Won't You Please Save The Birds, Sally - New Handmade Snow-lady Doll

"Won't You Please Save The Birds, Sally" is just like her twin sister, "Please Save The Birds, Snow-lady." She is very concerned about the birds being fed over the long, snowy winter and wonders if you would be willing to help her.

"Won't You Please Save The Birds, Sally " is a 14” self-standing cloth snow-lady with a painted face. Her curly blond wool hair is barely controlled underneath her fringed wool scarf that is tied around her head and neck. She is wearing a wool dress that is gathered at the neck and wrists. Designer-Katie’s Homespun Stitches

Both "Won't You Please Save The Birds, Sally " and her twin sister "Please Save The Birds Snow-Lady" always remember to feed their friends. They know that it can be hard in the winter for their bird friends to find food so they do everything they can to help them. They're hoping that if they can get a few friends to help that they'll get a few friends to help and so on. That way the birds will never be hungry. Do you want to help?

Flat Out Santa And Flat Out Rudy - New Handmade Dolls

"Flat Out Santa" and "Flat Out Rudy" make quite the pair. Unfortunately they can't seem to stand up in the snow and ice and end up flat out on their belly's. Fortunately both have been eating a lot of the cookies Mrs. Claus has been baking and have ample padding to spare.

"Flat Out Santa" is glad he ate all those cookies. After all falling flat on your face just isn't fun and they provided plenty of padding for his round belly. Maybe too much! Ho! Ho! Ho!

"Flat Out Santa" is a 19” cloth Santa with a muslin painted face and full white mohair beard and mustache. He has white mohair hair and is wearing a red print cap with white flannel trim and pompom. He has a red felt shirt with white flannel trim and red felt pants with white flannel trim. His boots are black felt and his black mittens are decorated with red felt hearts.

Designer-Bless My Bloomin Stitches

Both "Flat Out Santa" and "Flat Out Rudy" are hoping that they'll be able to stand on the snow and ice before they have to make their visits on Christmas Eve. Lets all hope they can stand by then.

"Flat Out Rudy" know that he isn't the only one who can't stand on the snow and ice. "Flat Out Santa" can't stand either. However, for a reindeer that can be quite embarrassing. He just hopes no one will notice.

"Flat Out Rudy" is a 6” brushed felt reindeer. He has an embroidered face with black bead eyes and red pompom nose. His antlers are made out of pipe cleaners. He is wearing a red flannel and fringed scarf and a plaid cloth fringed scarf. He is also wearing his favorite red socks. Unfortunately they don't do anything to keep him upright.

We're Going To Have Doll Hops All Year

I 'm just loving the "Doll Hops" on our DOLLS Blog by Linda Walsh Originals and I know the "dollies" are too!   They're just so much fun.  So much so that I've decided that we should have "Doll Hops" all year round.  Just don't tell the "dollies" just yet.  I need to decide when and which kind of dolls to feature and, well, truth be told, they can get a little out of hand with all their suggests and opinions.  And, if I don't agree with them - well, look out.

A couple of days ago we introduced our first Doll Hop in a post entitled:  The Santa & Mrs. Claus Doll Hop - Do You Have Santa's and Mrs. Clause Dolls On Sale?  If you saw our post then, hopefully,  you have a good idea what a "Doll Hop" is.

What you may be wondering is how we created that and how you can too.  We utilized the collections feature of InLinkz.com.  Basically, they help you to set-up a matrix (i.e. collections) for blog hops, contests, giveaways, and challenges where users can add their thumbnail to the matrix and a link. The thumbnail can be any picture or banner and the link can be back to the main page of a blog or website, or even to an individual item for sale page.

Each item can have a name and description and you can set the time-frame for how long the blog hop, contest, giveaway, etc. will last.  Once you've set-up the parameters for your matrix (i.e. collection) then you just add the html code to your website or blog.

Well, the great thing about InLinkz.com is that the matrix is very versatile. Instead of using it to set-up a blog hop, contest, or giveaway you could set it up to display collections of products such as the matrix we set-up on our DOLLS Blog by Linda Walsh Originals for Santa & Mrs. Claus Dolls.

We set this up as we thought it would be fun to have a "Santa & Mrs. Claus Doll Hop" for our dolls and to add other Santa's and Mrs. Clause dolls that some of our friends might be having for sale during this period. So, we invited our friends that sell handmade Santa's & Mrs. Clause dolls, have a family friendly website, and are a Linda's friend and/or follower of any of our blogs to add their doll's picture to our matrix.

The "dollies" and I know that we are going to LOVE our all year long Doll Hops.  If you'd like to see and/or participate in our "Doll Hops" please visit our DOLLS Blog and look for the "Doll Hops" module in the sidebar of our blog. Then just click on the Doll Hop that interests you and click on the "Add Your Link" button to add your dolls picture and product page link.

See you at the Doll Hops.

The Woodlands Are Hunting At The Dollie Fashion Show

Woodlands! Woodlands! And, even more "Woodlands Are A Hunting" at the "The Dollie Fashion Show" series here on our DOLLS Blog. They are out and about and hunting their way through the show.

First up is "Fly Fisherman:"

"Fly Fisherman" is a 22” fisherman with resin face and hands.  He sports a  full beard and mustache.  He has bushy eyebrows and a mass of white hair that is barely controlled under his red flannel hat.

He is wearing green sweatpants that are gathered at the waist and ankles, a plaid flannel shirt with button decorations and blanket stitched decorated vest.  He also has black boots with ties and is mounted on a wood stained base.  He is carrying a fishing rod in his right hand and fishing carry basket is slung over his left shoulder.

Designer-Courech Creations

"Fly Fisherman" has been fly fishing for most of his life. His father taught him how to cast as a small boy - around 5 years of age. It took awhile for him to develop his fly casting skills, but he soon was among the very best.

"Fly Fisherman" doesn't really worry about whether or not he catches as fish. He just loves being out in the river and fly fishing. To him there is nothing better than conversing with nature, and there is no better way to do that than fly fishing.

If you would like to order "Fly Fisherman" please CLICK HERE for his handmade doll.

"I Love The Woods, Rodman!" is a hunter and woodsman to the core. He'd much rather be out hunting, fishing, or just roaming around the frontier than inside the house any day.

He can't stand to be cooped up inside the house and gets very claustrophobic. In fact, he swears if he's inside too much he can feel the walls starting to close in.

Now we know that really can't be happening. But, to listen to "I Love The Woods, Rodman!" you'd think they really were moving on him. And, when that happens - well, let's just say that it's not the most pleasant to be around him at that time.

He gets cranky, and argumentative, and well - just plain annoying. So, no one minds when Rodman says he's going hunting. In fact, they encourage him to do so at all times!

"I Love The Woods, Rodman!" is a 15" cloth bodied doll with a porcelain head and porcelain arms and black boot feet.

He is wearing his favorite hunting outfit. His shirt is fringed and gathered at the neck and his pants are fringed on the bottom and gathered at the waist. The bottoms of his pants are cross tied with jute to keep the cold and snow out of his boots.

His hunting jacket, cape, and hat are made from upholstery velour for warmth. The jacket is fringed on the edge of the sleeves, shoulders, bottom of the jacket, and along the front edges. It has three buttons for closure and a belt that is wrapped around his waist and tied in a knot in the front.

His cape is lined and fringed along the edges. It is wrapped around his shoulders and fastened in the front with a DMC bow. He wears a lined frontiersman hat on his head that is tied with jute around the band.

"I Love The Woods, Rodman!" knows that he can be very unpleasant when he's been cooped up over a long winter and tries to get outside as much as he can but, the cold New England winter's force him inside sometimes. He really should make the most of being inside and just enjoy himself and his company.

Unfortunately, for Rodman, he just can't help himself. He wants to be out hunting and fishing and roaming the frontier.

If you would like to purchase "I Love The Woods, Rodman" please CLICK HERE  for his handmade doll.

If you want to make your own "I Love The Woods, Rodman!" please CLICK HERE  for his e-pattern.

Note: The porcelain head, hands, and feet that are pictured are the Abraham Lincoln Set from TDI Company. You can use any 4 1/2" porcelain head, hands, and feet set to make the doll as long as the head measures 4 1/2" from the bottom of the plate to the top of the head and the legs and the hands measure 4" each.

Next up hunting is "Grandpa Moose:"

"Grandpa Moose" is a 16” brushed felt stand alone moose with an embroidered face with brown moose eyes and large brushed felt antlers.   He has a large  painted snout and wire glasses.

He is wearing a long cotton gown that is gathered at his neck and has sleeves with cuffs.   He is also wearing his favorite fringed flannel robe with braided tie,  patch appliquéd decorated scarf, and wool hat.

Designer-Sandy’s Country Critters

Don't ask "Grandpa Moose" his age. He'll probably tell you he's "older than the hills!" Then he'll say he's over 100. You won't be able to get the truth out of him. I'm not sure he really knows anymore how old he is. Let's just say he's "up there!"

"Grandpa Moose" likes to spend all day in his lounging outfit. "What's the point of dressing?" he asks. I'd rather be comfortable and in my "comfy Jammie's." So, if you come to visit - be prepared for Grandpa Moose and his lounging attire.

If you would like to order "Grandpa Moose" please CLICK HERE for his handmade doll.

"Marvelous Mike The Mountain Man" is a 22” mountain man to the core.  He has a  resin face and hands, and sports a full beard and mustache.  He has white bushy eyebrows and a mass of white hair that is barely controlled underneath his fur boxed mountain hat.

He is wearing his warmest mountain man fringed brushed felt outfit.  His brushed felt pantaloons are gathered at the waist and ankles and are fringed along the outer side seam.   His long brushed felt shirt is fringed along the sleeve side seam and bottom hem edge.  He has black boots with ties and fringe along the top.

"Marvelous Mike The Mountain Man" is carrying a painted wooden rifle, painted wooden pistol, painted wooden knife, ammunition pouch,  and sack.  He is standing upon a wooden base.

Designer-Courech Creations

"Marvelous Mike The Mountain Man" was born and bred in the hills of Virgina. He has never left and never intends to do so. Mountain climbing and hunting is in his blood and he loves it.

Marvelous Mike learned to hunt and shoot from his Dad when he was a young lad. Maybe 4 or 5. He can't quite remember. He just remembers how much he loved hunting in the Virgina mountains with his Dad. It was a special time for him and one he'll never forget. In fact, each year he leaves a wooden animal that he has carved somewhere in the mountains as a memorial tribute to his Dad. He knows his Dad has quite a collection by now.

If you would like to order "Marvelous Mike The Mountain Man" please CLICK HERE.

"Moose Me Victorian!" really didn't want to have anything to do with the "Victoriana High Society Tea Club" but when his friend "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" invited him - well, how could he say no.

"Moose Me Victorian!" was a Victorian moose but he considered himself every bit the man's man. Hunting was in his blood and had been for generations. In fact, he excelled at marksmanship and had won the county title several years in a row.

But, his friend "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" had asked him and he was as loyal as they come and blood brothers with Ryan. So, how could he say no. He couldn't.

You see, "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" and his wife, "Bearly Victorian, Deb!" had decided to start their own "Victorian Animals Tea Society" for all their wonderful Victorian animal friends because they had been turned down for membership into the posh "Victoriana High Society Tea Club."

Their club would truly have an open membership and be accepting of all individuals and creatures. None of this "open to all", but really closed to animals rules.

So what if Ryan and Deb were bears. They were still Victorian to the core. In fact, their lineage was probably older than some of the snooty Victorians who turned down their membership application.

So, the "Victorian Animals Tea Society" was born and "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" asked his friend "Moose Me Victorian!" to join.

He also invited "Moose Me Victorian's" sister, "Moose Me A dance!" to join as well. His wife, "Bearly Victorian, Deb!" had asked him to so he did.

"Moose Me Victorian" knew that his sister, "Moose Me A Dance!" would be thrilled with the invitation. Why, she'd be ecstatic and be daydreaming of all the high society balls she would be attending. Not to mention all the wonderful ball gowns she'd have to buy.

Oh, yes! "Moose Me A Dance!" would be beside herself with anticipation.

"Moose Me Victorian!" wishes his sister, "Moose Me A Dance!" were as good at her marksmanship as she was on the dance floor. She could twirl and twirl and twirl and never loose her footing. She was graceful and every bit as elegant as she needed to be.

"Moose Me Victorian!" is a self standing moose doll with a square bottom and brushed felt body. He has black bead eyes and a black satin stitched nose. His mouth is embroidered with DMC embroidery floss and his ears and cheeks are blushed. His huge antlers sit regally upon his head and discourage any kind of confrontation. His gray lined hat also sits regally upon his head and matches his suit and vest perfectly.

He is wearing a flannel shirt which is gathered at the neck. He is also wearing a gray wool vest that matches his gray wool jacket and which is lined with the same fabric as his gray wool jacket. His vest is top stitched and fastened in front with a button.

His lace trimmed ascot also matches the lining of his gray wool vest and gray wool jacket.

He is wearing a lined gray wool jacket with a lined collar and lapels. His jacket is top stitched and fastens with a large gray button in the front.

"Moose Me Victorian!" knows fully well that he can walk and talk Victorian with the best of the Victorian gentleman. However, he much prefers the company of his hunting buddies and while he may be dancing on the dance floor his mind will be elsewhere.

If you would like to purchase "Moose Me Victorian!" please CLICK HERE  for his handmade doll.

If you want to make your own "Moose Me Victorian!" please CLICK HERE  for his e-pattern.

"Moose Me A Dance!" knows that her brother, "Moose Me Victorian!" really didn't want to have anything to do with joining the "Victoriana High Society Tea Club." But, she knew that he would do it for her. He knew how much she just loves to dance and would never turn down an opportunity for her to do so. So, when his friend "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" invited him - well, how could he say no.

Plus, he knew it would hurt his sister so he had no choice. It was the right thing to do for his friend and for his sister.

So, when "Bearly Victorian, Ryan" asked his friend "Moose Me Victorian!" to join he said "YES!" Not an enthusiastic "yes", but yes.

"Moose Me Victorian!" wishes his sister, "Moose Me A Dance!" was as good at her marksmanship as she was on the dance floor. She could twirl and twirl and twirl and never loose her footing. She was graceful and every bit as elegant as she needed to be. He on the other hand...let's just say he's a better hunter.

"Moose Me A Dance!" is a self standing doll with a square bottom and brushed felt body. She has black bead eyes and a black satin stitched nose. Her mouth is embroidered with DMC embroidery floss and her ears and cheeks are blushed.

Her huge antlers sit daintily upon her head. That is, as dainty as antlers can be! Her cap is lined and lace trimmed and matches her dress. A silk floral adorns the front of her cap while a ribbon bow adorns the back.

"Moose Me A Dance!" has a layer of wonderful lace trim along the bottom of her square body and is wearing a lace trimmed and gathered lace trimmed slip. Her beautiful coordinating ensemble is the latest in Victorian fashion. Her dress came straight from Paris from the finest of designers. Nothing shabby for "Moose Me Victorian!

She is wearing a dress trimmed with 2 layers of gathered lace and one layer of straight lace along the bottom hem. One layer of gathered lace trim and one layer of straight lace trim adorn her sleeves which are gathered at the wrist. Her dress is gathered at the neck which is adorned with 4 layers of gathered lace trim and adorned with a ribbon bow in the front.

"Moose Me A Dance!" is also wearing a lined velvet vest that is lace trimmed along the front, back, and bottom edges and is tied with a ribbon and buttons. Her outfit is finished with a print embroidered handkerchief for a shawl.

"Moose Me Victorian!" knows that her brother did this for her . She also knows that he can walk and talk Victorian with the best of the Victorian gentleman and while he much prefers the company of his hunting buddies he's a right fine dancer. He can waltz and twirl with the best of them.

If he has a choice, which he almost never does, between attending the latest social event or going hunting - well, he'd rather be hunting. He is sporting his best coordinated hunter's outfit. Both the pantaloons and jacket are coordinated. His two-tone checkered brown pantaloons have brushed denim brown cuffs and are the pantaloons are gathered at the cuffs and at the waist.

His jacket is lined with the brown check fabric and has a fold down collar and lapels. The sleeves have cuffs and the jacket has two front top stitched lined pockets with flaps and has shoulder and sleeve pads. The jacket is held together in the front with three buttons and a top stitched and belt is wrap around his waist and fastened in the front with two buttons. His fringed bottom pants are gathered at the waist. He is wearing his favorite pocketed and embroidered felt vest. He has holly berries tied to the jute around his ankles and greenery and holly berries wrapped around his antlers. He is also carrying a grapevine wreath decorated with a bow.

"Mac The Moose!" and his best buds, "Mike The Moose!", "Matt The Moose!", and "Matthew The Moose!" just love to go fishing, hiking, camping - basically, anything having to do with the outdoors.

The only outdoor event they don't like is, well, hunting season. The reasons why should be obvious, but, if they're not - well, let's just say, none of the four like to be the target. You see, they are outdoors men for sure, but they're also "moose" and, as such, well, hunters just love moose! So, during hunting season they spend most of their time inside their cabin.

"Francis The Bear" is not your average brown bear. He's big and he's rough like a bear, but he is also as gentle as they come. He loves the outdoors and loves outdoor sport, especially fishing. He's not too keen on hunting, though. Especially if it's bear hunting.

"Francis The Bear" is hoping to change the image of big brown bears from "frightening" to "as gentle as they come!" He figures he can do this by teaching the boys how to fish. After all what is more relaxing than spending a day on the edge of a lake - just fishing. He may be a big brown bear, but he really is as "gentle" as they come.
