My BIG Firecracker Sam!

What would summer be like without all our Americana, 4Th of July, and Uncle Sam decorations. Well, it certainly would be boring color wise. The red, whites, and blues are always so festive and cheery looking.

One of my favorite BIG dolls and woodcraft is a self-sitting Uncle Sam that resides in the corner of my kitchen for the entire summer. He just sits there and every time I look at him I can't help but think of the role New England played in the history of this country. In particular he makes me think of the American Revolution and Paul Revere, etc.

My Uncle Sam is 32" tall and was made based upon a TLC Crafters design. He's so cheery sitting in his corner that I decided to name him "Firecracker Sam."

"Firecracker Sam" was made from 3/4" pine wood and was painted blue. Painted black stitches outline the edge of his face, beard, and moustache. Painted white stars adorn his hat and white stripes run down his pant legs. He is holding a painted wooden flag and set of firecrackers in his lap.

So, all summer long he just sits a top his pedestal. He did have one request this year and that was to know when we would be showing his favorite movie - "Yankee Doodle Dandy." I told him I wasn't sure, but I would try to make sure we showed it for him.

Let's Hear It For The Red, White, and Blue! At The "Hey, What About Us! The Other Dolls!" Series Fashion Show

Let's hear it for the red, white, and blue. It's almost summer. Almost time for the 4Th of July and thoughts of red, white, and blue fill the air. It's Americana time. Get out the flags.

With that in mind we thought it was time for Americana at the "Hey, What About Us! The Other Dolls!" series fashion show.

So, CLICK HERE to start the Americana show.

On the runway now is "Adam Sam - The American Boy!"

HD258LWOD Adam Sam The American Boy

HD258 Adam Sam The American Boy –23” Wood and cloth boy with black bead eyes, lined boots, leggings, patriotic outfit, lined hat, flag, and wood birdhouse. Designer-Sparkles N Spirit

"Adam Sam - The American Boy" just loves his country and can hardly wait for the 4Th of July parade in his hometown. He's been attending it since he was a baby some 80 years ago. He wouldn't miss it.

Adam Sam is no longer a "boy" but his nickname "The American Boy" seems to fit him. He's still very much a young "boy" at heart. Because he is every 4Th of July he'll put on his patriotic outfit to wear to the parade. He'll bring his flag and will be waving it proudly. And, of course, he'll bring along his patriotic birdhouse with all his patriotic bird friends inside. After all, they wouldn't want to miss the parade either. Let's hear it for the red, white, and blue.

If you would like to order "Adam Sam The American Boy" please click on any one of the pictures above or CLICK HERE.

I hope you liked the "Americana" show.

The Spring season is flying by and it will be Summer before we know it. As such, thoughts turn to the 4Th of July celebration and things "Americana." With that in mind we decided that next up on the runway for "The Dollie Fashion Show" should be our favorite Americana dolls and crafts.

On the runway now is "Uncle Warren - A True Patriot!" He's true red, white, and blue.

LW091LWOD Uncle Warren - A True Patriot!

“Uncle Warren - A True Patriot”, 22” Uncle Sam – Primitive Doll - Primitive Series

Uncle Warren, A True Patriot! loves his country. He is a self-sitting Primitive Uncle Sam doll with a cloth body and drawn face. He sports a long beard, moustache, and white hair. He is wearing a shirt with long cuffed sleeves, lined vest, and long cuffed pants. His patriotic stove pipe hat is lined and rests on his head. His right arm is saluting and he is holding a flag in his left hand. His boots are adorned with bows. Designer - Linda Walsh Originals

"Uncle Warren" truly is a true red, white, and blue patriot. He loves his country and, even now, at the age of 82 is still willing to serve his country. If they need him to serve, he'll be ready. Of course, at his age he can't fight, but he can still serve. Paperwork, no problem. Cooking for the GI's, no problem. Cleaning the mess hall, no problem. Encouragement and moral, no problem. Uncle Warren is ready and able to serve.

If you would like to order "Uncle Warren - A True Patriot!" please click on any one of the pictures above or CLICK HERE.

If you would like to make my Linda Walsh Originals doll design yourself please CLICK HERE for the instant download e-pattern.

And, we have GREAT news. Uncle Warren now has two brothers that are part of the group of new doll patterns and handmade dolls that I've been designing and should be available shortly. When they're ready we'll be sure to post about it. Uncle Warren will be sooooooo happy. He has two brothers.

It's Graduation Day at The Dollie Fashion Show

It's Graduation Day at The Dollie Fashion Show and the graduates are all lined up. They're ready for their procession. Their graduation day has been a long time coming and they are eager to go.

So, let's start the "graduation" show. CLICK HERE to start the graduation slide show.

First up on the runway is a James.

LW103LWOD James

“James”, 20” Boy Doll - Graduation Doll - Graduation Series

James has been impishly awaiting his Graduation Day and is a free-standing cloth doll with a square bottom denim base. He sports a long cotton shirt with rolled sleeves and square-bottomed denim pants. His face is embroidered and he has round black button eyes.

He is wearing a black satin graduation gown with 3/4 sleeves and is holding his diploma in his right hand and his commencement exercise booklet in his left hand. He has wild curly brown hair framing his face and has a black graduation cap on his head.

Designer - Linda Walsh Originals

James has been preparing for his Graduation Day for quite some time. He decided that he wanted to take the summer off after his graduation and travel around the country. He wants to have some fun before he has to settle down into a real job in the real world. He's not sure his parents will approve the summer off. He certainly is going to give them all the reasons why this is a good thing, maybe, even throw in an "impish" smile of two. That will sway them to his way of thinking. He can be a charmer when he wants to.

If you would like to order "James" please click on any one of the pictures above or CLICK HERE.

If you would like to make my Linda Walsh Originals doll design yourself please CLICK HERE for the instant download e-pattern.

Next up on the runway for the graduates is Anna.

LW104LWOD Anna

“Anna”, 20” Girl Doll - Graduation Doll - Graduation Series

Anna has been waiting a long time for her Graduation Day and is a free-standing cloth doll with a square bottom denim base. She has a long tunic shirt with fringed 3/4 gathered sleeves and square-bottomed denim pants. Her face is embroidered and she has round black button eyes.

She is wearing a white satin graduation gown with 3/4 sleeves and is holding a bouquet of silk ribbon flowers with streamers and diploma in her right hand and her commencement exercise booklet in her left hand. She has long flowing red hair framing her face and has a white graduation cap on her head. A string of pearls and ribbon bow decorate her outfit.

Designer - Linda Walsh Originals

Anna is so happy to be finally graduating. It seems like it's been a long time coming and she's looking forward to her summer vacation. Of course, it won't be a vacation for her as she has to prepare for moving into college all the way across the country from where she lives. She wanted the best school in her field and it was far away. While Anna and her parents weren't really happy that she'd be this far from home they want her to have the best education possible - so they agreed. So, Anna has a lot to do before she goes on to college.

If you would like to order "Anna" please click on any one of the pictures above or CLICK HERE.

If you would like to make my Linda Walsh Originals doll design yourself please CLICK HERE for the instant download e-pattern.

I hope you enjoyed the graduation show. The graduates can hardly wait to start the next phase of their lives.

Now She's A Real "Girly Girl!"

Well, the following two dolls may look like "girly girls" but they couldn't be more different. One is definitely a "girly girl" and the other - well, let's just say she doesn't mind a little dirt. Even if it is all over her white dress.

Both of our "girly girls" have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Girls. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Girls!" slideshow.

So, without further adieu here are the real"girly girls. Well, let's say here is one real "girly girl" and one real "tomboy:"

DI066BLWOD Sweet Abby

DI066BLWOD Sweet Abby is a 19" cloth doll with black button eyes and a full head of curly brown hair adorned with a bow. She is wearing a white gathered and lac trimmed dress with a lined stain vest that is adorned with a silk floral clasp. Her bonnet is lace trimmed, her bloomers are matching and lace trimmed, and her legs and feet are matching fabric. She is carrying a heart decorated with lace ribbon trim and a silk floral. (Please not that the chair is not included with Sweet Abby.) Designer - Angels Attic

They just don't get much "girlier" than Sweet Abby. Why, she's the essence of whiteness and purity. All decked out in her totally matching white attire. Why, even her legs and shoes match. You can't get much frillier than her.

However, don't let all that whiteness and lace fool you. Sweet Abby is anything but a "girly girl!" She'd much rather be a "tomboy" and out playing baseball with her brothers. This "girly girl" stuff is for the birds. If she even dares to move she'll get her clothes all dirty. Sweet Abby just doesn't understand why anyone would want to be a "girly girl." "Yuck!" is what Sweet Abby has to say to that.

Sally May - well, that's another story.

DI053BLWOD Sally May

DI053BLWOD Sally May is a 23" free standing wood and cloth girl with drawn and blushed face, lace trimmed and gathered dress, bloomers, socks, and wood shoes decorated with bows. She has a gathered apron with ribbon trim and a pocket decorated with a bow that has a lace handkerchief in it. Her hair is long and curly blond and she is wearing a stiff lace hat with bow. She is carrying a stuffed animal in her right hand. Designer - Mulberry Street

Unlike some of the other "dollies" who are "tomboys" Sally May loves being a "girly girl" She loves trying on different outfits and getting all dressed up. In fact she can spend hours doing just that. Trying on this dress or that dress or that hat.

Sally May doesn't understand why anyone would want to go outside and play baseball, or roll around in the dirt. Yuck! You'd get your clothes all dirty. Who in their right minds would want to do that. Not Sally May - that's for sure. She's too much of a "girly girl!"

Girls and Their Cats!

I think I am the only woman on the planet that doesn't really like cats. Kittens are cute, but they group up to be cats and cats walk all over your kitchen counters and tables. Personally, I don't like that. So, when the "dollies" said they wanted a kitten I told them flat out "NO!"

Well, that must have startled them as I heard them all muttering under their breath. Then one of them replied, "Now don't get mad at me for saying this, Linda, but you make cats and you make dolls with kittens so we thought you liked cats and kittens. If you don't like them then why would you make some?"

Well, the answer is quite simply because I think I'm the only woman on the planet that doesn't. So, since everyone else likes them I have to make them. That's why the next group of "girly girls" have kittens. Enjoy them.

All of the girls have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Girls. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Girls!" slideshow.

So, without further adieu here are the girls and their cats or kittens:

DI048BLWOD Kittens For Rose

DI048BLWOD Kittens For Rose is a 25" free standing wood and cloth girl with a drawn and blushed face, two-tone gathered and lace trimmed dress, eyelet lace apron with embroidered heart, socks, bows, gathered bloomers, long hair tied with bows, straw hat with bows, and basket with two hand drawn and painted kittens. Designer - Mulberry Street

Rose just adores her kittens and can not bear to be without them. She really doesn't want to sell them and takes them to school. She takes them to dancing class. She takes them to the market and she takes them to bed. She even takes them with her when she's well - indisposed.

Rose's sisters told her that she was going to get into trouble if she didn't stop bringing her "babies" with her everywhere, especially to school. She responded that the teachers loved the kittens when she brought them in. They were all cooing and cawing over them.

Well, once for show-n-tell is fine - everyday, well that's another matter. No, no Rose - kittens do not go to school with you. Kittens must stay home. And, Rose, we know you LOVE your kittens, but you must stop telling everyone that they're been sold when they haven't.

Kittens for sale. We have kittens for sale.

DI048CLWOD Ashley and Her Kittens

DI048CLWOD Ashley and Her Kittens is a 25" free standing wood and cloth girl with a drawn and blushed face, two-tone gathered and lace trimmed dress, eyelet lace apron with embroidered heart , socks, bows, gathered bloomers, long hair tied with bows, straw hat with bows, and basket with a hand drawn and painted kitten and her muslin cat, Felix. Designer - Mulberry Street

Ashley loves her kitten, too, but is much fonder of her cat Felix. That's why she takes him everywhere she goes. He's not for sale though. He just tags along to keep Ashley company while she's selling her baby kitten.

Ashley has been having a hard time selling her last kitten and really doesn't understand why that is. People just don't seem to want to get too close to her. She smiles and the kitten smiles and Felix smiles - or so she thinks he does. What she doesn't realize is that Felix is very protective of Ashley and anyone that gets too close that he doesn't like, well, let's just say they might end up with a nasty scratch. Perhaps she should ask Felix why she's having such a hard time her last kitten.

We hope you liked our "girly girls" and their kittens.

More Girly Girls!

Since I gave into the "dollies" demands for more "girly girls" it's been relatively quite in "The Dollie Storage Room." However, if I don't continue to showcase some of the girls it won;t be quiet for long.

You see, the girls outnumber all the other kinds of dolls and can be very demanding as a voting block.

All of the girls have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Girls. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Girls!" slideshow.

So, once again, without further adieu here are the girls, the "girly girls:"

DI064ALWOD Petunia

DI064ALWOD Petunia is a 24" muslin cloth doll with an embroidered, painted and blushed face, and dark brown curly hair. She is wearing a flowing brown dress with embroidered and laced hearts, decorated with buttons and bows. She has gathered bloomers and a matching overflowing lined hat decorated with silk florals. (Please note that the chair is not included with Petunia.) Designer - Midwest Designs & Sales

Petunia thinks her hat is similar to that of "The Flying Nun" which was a TV series in the late 1970's or 1980's. She's not sure. She just knows that her hat reminds people of that series. Big, floppy, and can be carried away in the wind.

Petunia doesn't mind that her hat is big and floppy. She thinks it's terrific protection for when she goes out in the sun and does her gardening. She sun burns so easily and is always thankful that her hat protects her from the harmful rays of the sun. Without it she'd have to give up gardening and growing her favorite flowers.

Now given her name - what might they be?

Penelope "Blue Eyes" also loves her hat, but for an entirely different reason.

DI064BLWOD Penelope "Blue Eyes"

DI064BLWOD Penelope "Blue Eyes"is a 24" muslin cloth doll with an embroidered, painted and blushed face, and darkblack curly hair. She is wearing a flowing blue dress with embroidered and laced doilies, and decorated with buttons and bows. She has gathered bloomers and a matching overflowing lined hat decorated with silk florals. (Please note that the chair is not included with Penelope.) Designer - Midwest Designs & Sales

Penelope "Blue Eyes" also loves her big floppy hat because she thinks it accentuates her beautiful blue eyes. We all have to admit that it really does do that. She does have beautiful blue eyes. Unfortunately, Penelope knows this and uses it to get her way.

Penelope "Blue Eyes" might look like the sweetest of the sweet. So demur and dainty looking with those beautiful blue eyes. But, it's those beautiful blue eyes of hers that get her into trouble when she tries to uses them to charm the boys. The "girly girl" charm might work on the boys - it certainly won't work on the girls. Well, maybe, on some of the "girly girls." Certainly not on the "tomboys."

We hope you like our second group of the "girly girls" dolls. Stay tuned, we do have more.

We want girls! We Want Girls! Girly girls.

We Want Girls! We Want Girls! Girly Girls!

Okay! Okay! I get it!

You've had enough of "bunnies" and want some articles about some of the "girl" dolls. Your want the "girly" girls and aren't too happy with the way I tricked you the last time.

Okay! So two of the three angels from the last post were angel "bunnies!" They were still angels. You can take a joke - can't you!

Well, I guess not. Not if you're a "dollie."

So, once again, I've given in to the "dollie's demands."

All of the girls have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Girls. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Girls!" slideshow.

So, without further adieu here are the girls, the "girly girls:"

DI025ALWOD Sweet Matilda

DI025ALWOD Sweet Matilda is a 20" muslin cloth sitting doll with black bead eyes, embroidered and blushed face, freckles, and dark brown curly hair. She is wearing a lace trimmed frilly gathered dress with ribbon bows and a ribbon sash. She has lace trimmed matching bloomers and a matching lined hat trimmed with a bow. She is carrying her favorite stuffed bear with a heart. (Please note that the chair is not included with Sweet Matilda.) Designer - Midwest Designs & Sales

Sweet Matilda would like everyone to think she's as sweet as pie, but her sneer beguiles that. She can be a bit critical and bossy at times. Make that down right bossy at times. So much so that she causes quite a stir in "the dollie storage room" where she lives with the other 1,796 "dollies."

Sweet Matilda really does want to get along with the other dollies. It's just that sometimes they don't do what she wants and sometimes she just has no patience. But, she doesn't want to be friend-less so she's working on her temperament, attitude, and demeanor.

After all, you can't be named "Sweet Matilda" and not be sweet. Or can you?

DI026LWOD Dory The Sewing Lady

DI026LWOD Dory The Sewing Lady is a 22" muslin cloth doll with black bead eyes, embroidered and blushed face, freckles, and dark brown curly hair. She is wearing a lace trimmed gathered dress. She has lace trimmed matching bloomers and a matching lined and lace trimmed hat. She sports a wood spool necklace and is carrying an embroidered heart tote with decorated buttons & spools and carrying fabric mini-quarters. Ribbon bows adorn her feet. (Please note that the chair is not included with Dory.) Designer - Midwest Designs & Sales

Dory is very much "the sewing lady." Everything she does related to sewing and everything she wants to try relates to sewing. As far as she is concerned "sewing is everything!" So, she always carries her fabric around with her. You just never know when you might need it. For Dory, that usually is a matter of seconds.

Dory wants to try everything and anything relating to sewing and has so many UFO's (unfinished objects) that they are too numerous to count. She'd never throw them away though because she never knows when she may get the urge to finish them. She will - it's just a matter of time.

We hope you like our first two of the "girly girls" dolls. Stay tuned, we do have more. And, no they are not "girly girl" bunnies. The "bunnies" had their time in the spotlight for this year. They'll have to wait again until next year. It's the "girly girls" turn now.

We want girls! We want girls! Girly girls.

Enough With the Bunnies! It's Time For Some Angels

Well, some of the "dollies" have decided that I've showcased enough of the bunnies. It's time for some really good dolls - some angels. Some sweet, loving, caring, and devoted angels. Dolls who actually do some good in the world.

"No, that last statement is not meant to disparage any of you!"

"Boy, these "dollies" are just so sensitive."

The angels have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Angels and under Girls. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Angels!" slideshow.

So, here's to the angels:

DI027LWOD Angelic Maggie

DI027LWOD Angelic Maggie is a 24" self-sitting cloth bodied angel doll with a black bead eyes, an embroidered and blushed face, and wispy white hair bundled at the top of her head. She has embroidered angel wings, a ribbon shawl, and an embroidered apron decorated with an embroidered heart, ribbons, and silk floral. Her dress is hemmed and accented with a lace overskirt. She has a matching pair of bloomers. (Please note: the chair is not included with Maggie.) Pattern Designer - Midwest Designs & Sales

Angelic Maggie is no ordinary angel. She's a very special angel sent to watch over a very special group of individuals who are near and dear to her heart. Her task is to keep all the aging "baby boomer's" safe. She knows that it's a HUGE task as there are just so many of them out there, but she's up to it.

Angelic Maggie's charge is near and dear to her as she loves the "baby boomer" period and always wanted to be a flower child of the 1960's and 1970's. Alas, that was not meant to be so Angelic Maggie keeps a watchful eye on her "aging" population. A HUGE task for sure that Angelic Maggie can handle.

And, now for two very special "bunnies" - I mean "angels":

DI002ALWOD Chris

DI002LWOD Chris is a 23" brushed suede cloth bunny with a drawn and blushed face. Her dress is gathered and fringed with ribbon trim and has an embroidered collar with a ribbon bow. Her bloomers are gathered and fringed and she has an embroidered heart on her ankles. She has embroidered wings and is carrying a large "Angel Sent From Up Above, Please Protect The Ones We Love!" embroidered and heart decorated sign. Her halo is grapevine and decorated with silk floral. Designer - Angels Attic

Chris has a very difficult task and mission to fulfill. It keeps her hopping, tired, and a little disheveled. However, she is fortunate as she has her twin sister, Charlene, to help her oversee her charge and fulfill her mission. Her task is to watch over all the "bunnies" and make sure they are protected and taken care of. It's an enormous task as they just keep multiplying and multiplying and multiplying.

Chris knows that it's an enormous task and is fully prepared to handle this important mission, even if it's doubling every day. She is smart enough to know that should she need more help it would be wise to ask for it. With all the multiplying going on she may just need to ask for help sooner rather than later. Maybe tomorrow. Right now she needs a nap.

To help Chris with her task is her twin sister, Charlene:

DI002BLWOD Charlene

DI002LWOD Charlene is a 23" brushed suede cloth bunny with a drawn and blushed face.

Charlene is thrilled to be able to help her twin sister, Chris with her mission and task. She was a little afraid that she was going to have to fulfill her task and mission all alone and really was a little apprehensive about that. So, she was delighted to know that she and Chris would be a team. What she didn't expect was that it would be a lot of work. Very tiring. It's no wonder she looks exhausted and a bit disheveled.

Charlene is an animal lover and especially loves "bunnies." Of course, being a "bunny" herself - even if she is an angel bunny - makes her a little prejudice. That doesn't bother Charlene. She figures there are plenty of "angels" and plenty of "bunnies" to go around. Well, let's say with all the bunny multiplying going one there are plenty of "bunnies" to go around. They may need more angels. Hey, Chris.....we could use some help.

I hope you liked the "bunnies" - I mean the "angels. Enough with the "bunnies" now Linda?

There Can Never Be Enough Bunnies! Or Can There?

The "dollies" have been on a "bunny" craze this week. They want EVERY new bunny that I've made introduced and have been driving me crazy about it. So, I decided to add them all just to keep the "dollies" happy.

So, get ready. We have more bunnies. This time they're bunny sisters.

They have all been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Spring and under Animals. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Hop, Hop The Bunny Trail!" slideshow.

Polly O'Hare is related to Holly O'Hare Me Fine and is the oldest of the two sisters.

HD110BLWOD Polly O'Hare

HD110BLWOD Polly O'Hare is a 14" free standing wood and brushed suede cloth with drawn and blushed face, gathered dress with lace full collar, gathered apron, bloomers, socks, bows, large ribbon bow, sinamay hat, slight tuft of hair, and decorative carrots. She was made based upon a Mulberry Street pattern design.

Polly O'Hare" thinks her colors are much better than her sister, Holly O'Hare. And, certainly better than all her brothers - those wild and crazy O'Hare's. They're rich, regal, and very lady like. In fact, she thinks she is the essence of fine taste. Certainly not wild and certainly not crazy.

Sometimes Polly is a little embarrassed by the craziness of her brothers. They're always teasing her about her manners and her disposition. You see, she's a bit of a Pollyanna. Prim, proper and quiet as a mouse. Always lady like and always well-mannered.

Molly is very lady-like, too. Just not as much so as Polly is. Polly figures that's alright as she has more than enough manners for the both of them. Now her brothers - well, that's a different story.

Next, is another bunny sister. Only this time, she's Ethel Bunny's sister, Agatha. They look so much alike that sometimes they are mistaken as twins. They're not. Just sisters.

HD123BLWOD Agatha

HD123BLWOD Agatha is a 16" Cloth faux suede bunny with an embroidered face, black button eyes, gathered dress, gathered bloomers, apron, kerchief, bandanna, tuft of hair, and a watering can. Designer-Just My Imagination

Unlike Ethel - Agatha does have a green thumb. She's just like her mother,. Whatever she plants always comes up. Whatever plant she tends is always healthy and full. Whatever dying plant she brings home is always resurrected. She just can;t miss when it comes to her green thumb.

Agatha feels bad for her sister, Ethel. She's tried to teach her how to take care of her plants. It's to no avail. Ethel just doesn't have a green thumb no matter what she does. So, Agatha tends Ethel's plants for her.

She doesn't mind. In fact, she's more than happy to do so. She'd rather that then see the poor plants failing. Dying plants - Oh, No! Not when Agatha is around.

Here dear - you need some water!

We hope you liked your visit with two of our bunny sisters.

A Few Spring Bunny Woodcrafts

You may have noticed that not only do I like to make dolls, but sometimes I like to play with wood. Some of my dolls are wood only and some are a combination of wood and cloth. Sometimes I even vary and just make a woodcraft. Wood decorations to compliment one's home decor.

So, I thought I'd spotlight "A Few Spring Bunny Woodcrafts" in this post.

All of the woodcrafts have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Spring , under Animals. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Hop, Hop The Bunny Trail!" slideshow.

Here's a few of our Spring bunny woodcrafts:

HD103LWOD Hanging By The Fence

HD103LWOD Hanging By The Fence is an 11" x 18" "Welcome Spring" hanging woodcraft. Pattern Designer - Pretty Primitives

Spring is just around the corner and these two bunnies definitely know it. In fact, they can hardly wait to "Welcome Spring" and your guests into your home. They would be perfect on a front door or hanging in any room of your house.

While they wait for Spring they'll just be "Hanging By the Fence!"

Our next woodcraft doesn't like hanging around. She prefers to "Hop On In!":

HD116ALWOD Hattie Hippity-Hop

HD116ALWOD Hattie Hippity-Hop is a 7" self-standing wood bunny. She has a green ribbon bow, grapevine heart wreath and large wood carrot.

Hattie prefers to hop from here to there, to there. Anywhere you'd like to place her would be just fine with Hattie.

Of course, her sister, Mattie wouldn't like that. No - not at all!

HD116BLWOD Mattie Hippity-Hop

HD116BLWOD Mattie Hippity-Hop is a 7" self-standing wood bunny. She has a blue lace collar and blue ribbon bow, grapevine circle wreath with cloth bow and large wood carrot.

Mattie prefers to stay put. She doesn't like to hop from room to room to room like her sister, Hattie.

We hope you have enjoyed our Spring bunny woodcrafts.

Don't Cross Betty! Maybe Philip - Not Betty!

Sometimes when you make a doll they come out a little different than you expect. Such was the case with Philip and Betty - 2 bunnies that I made. Betty turned out to be grandmotherly and Philip turned out to be the sweetest grandfather.

Betty and Philip have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Spring and under Animals. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Hop, Hop The Bunny Trail!" slideshow.

Here's a little bit about Betty and Philip that you might like to know:

HD091LWOD Philip

HD091LWOD Philip is a 14" brushed suede cloth bunny with black bead eyes, an embroidered and blushed face, freckles and embroidered & patched 2-color ears. He has a tuft of gray hair and glasses. He is wearing corduroy pantaloons, a lined jacket with cuffs and covered buttons, and has an embroidered and heart decorated tie. He is carrying a resin Easter egg in one hand and a resin carrot in the other. Designer - Homespun At Heart Designs

Philip is the quintessential sweet grandfather. He loves his grandchildren to death and would spoil them if Betty, his wife, didn't stop him. He figures that his grandchildren are only young once so why not give them everything he didn't have growing up.

Nowadays there are just so many wonderful toys, video games, and gadgets that sometimes it takes Philip hours to select a toy when he goes to the toy store. He just loves to test them all out before he decides if they are right for his grandchild. At least that's what he tells, Betty.

We know better. Philip just loves to play with the toys, video games, and gadgets. Actually what he's doing is getting one up on his grandchildren by becoming familiar with everything before they ask him to play it. That way he'll know how to let his grandchildren win. He is the sweetest Grandfather - even if his grandchildren do beat him! Wink! Wink!

HD092LWOD Betty

HD092LWOD Betty is a 14" brushed suede cloth bunny with black bead eyes, an embroidered and blushed face, freckles and embroidered & patched 2-color ears. She has a tuft of gray hair under her crochet hat and has a bright pink satin stitched nose. Her blouse is gathered and her skirt is gathered with straps, buttons, and decorative bows. Her bloomers are gathered and she has a hankerchief shawl wrapped around her shoulders. She is carrying a resin Easter egg in her right hand. Designer - Homespun At Heart Designs

Betty is a no nonsense Grandmother. She loves her grandchildren to death, but worries that Philip, her husband, spoils them too much. She, too, wants them to have everything she didn't have as a child, but also wants them to have a realistic view of the world. Not everything can be given to you on a silver platter. You have to work for the things you want in life.

Betty also knows Philip's toy store secret. She knows he spends hours in the toy store learning how to play the games, video's and other gadgets just so he can let the grandchildren win. He the sweetest grandfather and Betty wants him to stay that way. So, she doesn't say anything to him when he makes his excuses for being there for hours.

"It was crowded! It was so busy, Betty! You should have seen the long lines at the register! Their computers were down!" Okay, Philip. We believe you. Wink! Wink!

As grandparents go they don't get much better than Betty and Philip.

The O'Hare Brothers! A Fine, Bunny Group!

"SPRING IS IN THE AIR AND WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN A GATHERING OF O'HARES!" Not much as far as the O'Hares are concerned. Anytime they can get together the better for them. They just love to show off and tease each other.

And, they just LOVE movies. Especially movies about bunnies and Ireland. In fact, their favorite movie is "The Quiet O'Hares" which is a bunny version of the classic movie "The Quiet Man."

All four of the O'Hare brothers have been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Spring and under Animals. They have also been added to our "Hey, What About Us Series - Hop, Hop The Bunny Trail!" slide show.

Here's the four O'Hare brothers:

HD090ALWOD John O'Hare

HD090ALWOD Jack O'Hare is an 11" coffee stained warm & natural cloth bunny. He has black bead eyes, an embroidered face, pink animal nose, and tuft of hair on the top. He also has a straw hat on his head which cannot contain his embroidered and patches ears. His shirt is gathered and decorated with a bow, and he is wearing a lined vest and pantaloons. He is carrying a bunch of fresh cloth carrots in his right hand and a rake with a wood sign in his right hand. Pattern Designer - Homespun At Heart

Spring is in the air and John is prepared for the harvest. In fact, he already his his carrots dug up and is ready to put them on sale. He spend the morning harvesting them, but you wouldn't know that from what he's wearing.

Now you might be wondering why John would be dressed in his finest clothes to harvest carrots. Well, as the oldest of the O'Hare brothers he always needs to set an example. So, he always wears his finest outfit.

Of course, we know he has a little secret. You see, he has several sets of the same outfit and , if need be, just goes home to change after harvesting. His three brothers - Jack, Peter, and Paul don't know his little secret so please don't tell them.

Next we have Jack O'Hare who is the "rebel" of the family

HD090BLWOD Jack O'Hare

HD090BLWOD Jack O'Hare is an 11" warm & natural cloth bunny. He has black bead eyes, an embroidered face, and a pink button nose. He also has a straw hat on his head adorned with fruit which cannot contain his embroidered and patches ears. He is wearing a zig-zag embroidered lined vest that is adorned with buttons and a large bow. Billowing pantaloons round out his outfit. He is carrying a bunch of fresh cloth carrots in his left hand. Pattern Designer - Homespun At Heart

Jack O'Hare is the third oldest brother of the O'Hare clan and is a little bit of a rebel. He always seems to get involved in one scruff or another with his MUM forever begging the principal not to suspend him from school.

Jack's mother had a tough time this week with Jack's principal so Jack figured he needed to do something sweet for his MUM. So he decided to get dressed in his finest embroidered vest - the one his MUM made and go buy her the best bunch of carrots he could find.

He's hoping this will soften his MUM up for what he knows is coming. His punishment for fighting once again in school.

Next up is the baby of the family - Peter O'Hare.

HD090cLWOD Peter O'Hare

HD090CLWOD Peter O'Hare is an 11" warm & natural cloth bunny. He has black bead eyes, an embroidered face, and a pink button nose. He also has a straw hat on his head adorned with fruit which cannot contain his embroidered and patches ears. He is wearing a zig-zag embroidered lined vest that is adorned with buttons and a large bow. Pantaloons round out his outfit. He is carrying a bunch of fresh cloth carrots in his left hand. Pattern Designer - Homespun At Heart

Unlike his brother, Jack O'Hare, Peter is a sweet soul. He is gentle and kind and would never think of getting into a fight with anyone. For him the challenge is to out smart the person who are having a problem with not pummel them like his brother, Jack does.

Some people speculate that Peter is the apple of his MUM's eye. She won't say, but it certainly doesn't hurt when you are sweet, kind, and will do anything your MUM wants. He's everything a bunny MUM could ever want in a son.

His brothers tease him that he can't be Irish. He's too gentle and kind for that.

Last, but not least, is Paul O'Hare - John O'Hare's twin.

HD090DLWOD Paul O'Hare

HD090DLWOD is an 11" coffee stained warm & natural cloth bunny.

They may dress alike, but Paul O'Hare is nothing like his twin brother. He hates harvesting and could care less about planting carrots.

In fact, when it comes to harvesting Paul may carry a rake, wood sign, and a bunch of carrots, but they are there for show only. It's his private joke. He bought the carrots at the local grocery store and his rake has never touched soil.

You will never find Paul O'Hare gardening. Why - he wouldn't want to get his clothes dirty. Forget having multiple sets like his twin brother, John. (Yes, he knows his little secret). What a waste of money. Paul would rather buy a book, especially if it's a book of Irish jokes.

We hope you liked the all the O'Hare brothers and the rest of the NEW bunnies we've been introducing over the last few days.

What Could Be Better Than More Bunnies?

"SPRING IS IN THE AIR AND WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN MORE BUNNIES" Not much as far as all the bunnies are concerned.

We have more new bunnies and they have all been added to our new Linda Walsh Originals Dolls website under Spring and under
